The stops, in order

  1. SpaccanapoliWelcome to Spaccanapoli, the ancient artery that truly seems to 'split Naples in two'. This straight, narrow street, following the path of the lower decumanus of the Greco-Roman city, cuts through the beating heart of the UNESCO-listed historic center. Looking up, you'll see laundry drying from flower-filled balconies, while the hum of scooters blends with the calls of street vendors.
  2. Castel dell'Ovo↳ 2.6 km from the previous stop (straight line)You are gazing at Castel dell'Ovo, the oldest fortress in Naples, standing proudly on the islet of Megaride where the Greeks first founded the city of Parthenope. Its mysterious name, 'Egg Castle', stems from a medieval legend claiming the poet Virgil hid a magical egg in an iron cage buried within the foundations. Should the egg ever break, the castle would crumble, and Naples would face a major disaster.
  3. National Archaeological Museum of Naples↳ 2.8 km from the previous stop (straight line)Welcome to the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, one of the world's most significant sanctuaries of Antiquity. Housed in a 16th-century palace, it holds the priceless treasures discovered during the excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum, frozen in time by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. You can admire mosaics of incredible finesse, such as the famous Alexander Battle scene, as well as the vibrant frescoes that once adorned patrician villas.
