Colosseum, Forum and Trevi Fountain in 1 hour

The stops, in order

  1. ColosseumWelcome to the Colosseum, the largest amphitheater ever built and the absolute icon of Imperial Rome. Inaugurated in 80 AD under the reign of Titus, it could hold over 50,000 spectators who came to witness gladiator fights, wild animal hunts, and even mock naval battles. Observe its ingenious architecture: the 80 outer arches use superimposed Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian orders.
  2. Roman Forum↳ 521 m from the previous stop (straight line)You are gazing at the Roman Forum, the true political, religious, and commercial heart of ancient Rome for over a thousand years. Wandering through these majestic ruins, you walk in the footsteps of history's greatest figures, from Augustus to Cicero. Admire the surviving columns of the Temple of Saturn, the imposing Arch of Septimius Severus, and the Curia, seat of the Roman Senate.
  3. Trevi Fountain↳ 1.0 km from the previous stop (straight line)This is the Trevi Fountain, the largest and most famous Baroque fountain in Rome—a theatrical masterpiece sculpted in white marble. Completed in 1762 by Nicola Salvi, it depicts Oceanus on a shell-shaped chariot pulled by two sea horses, symbolizing the sea's changing moods. Masterfully integrated into the facade of Palazzo Poli, it is Fed by one of Rome's oldest aqueducts.
