The stops, in order
- Dam SquareWelcome to Dam Square, the historical and political heart of Amsterdam. This vast esplanade takes its name from the original dam built on the Amstel river around 1270, which gave birth to the city. Here you will see the Royal Palace, a masterpiece of Dutch classical architecture, which rests on more than 13,600 wooden piles.
- Oude KerkHere is the Oude Kerk, or 'Old Church', the city's oldest building, consecrated in 1306. Located ironically in the heart of the Red Light District, this Gothic church has seen Amsterdam evolve from a simple fishing village into a global power. Its floor is entirely paved with more than 2,500 massive tombstones, including that of Saskia van Uylenburgh, Rembrandt's beloved wife.
- Jordaan CanalsWelcome to the Jordaan, arguably the most picturesque and authentic neighborhood in Amsterdam. Once a working-class and artisan district in the 17th century, it has now become the city's bohemian heart. As you stroll along its narrow canals, you will discover leaning houses and charming hidden inner courtyards called 'hofjes'.
